Artist Talk: Ex Nihilo — A Matthew Remsbecher Solo Exhibition

Sophia Grace Gallery invites the public to a special artist talk with Matthew Remsbecher in conjunction with his solo exhibition Ex Nihilo, currently on view January 24 – April 19, 2026. 

During this moderated conversation, Remsbecher will discuss the conceptual foundations of the exhibition, the material processes behind the works, and the broader implications of constructing form through constraint. This event offers visitors a unique opportunity to engage directly with the artist while experiencing the gallery’s contemplative installation of black-on-black minimalist works. The Leader Block Cultural House Experience Guests are encouraged to make an evening of it. The artist talk will be lightly catered by Leader Block Trattoria & Bar, located next door, offering a taste of the vibrant Leader Block cultural house experience.
